Chocolate Cherry Smoothie

Equipment

  • 1 High Speed Blender

Ingredients

  • 8 oz plant milk (I prefer soy)
  • 1 ½ cups cherries, frozen or fresh (if using fresh cherries, add a handful of ice cubes)
  • 1 packed cup spinach
  • 1-2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder or cacao powder
  • 3 Tbsp flaxseed meal
  • 1 Tbsp almond butter or peanut butter
  • ½ of a banana
  • ¼-½ tsp maple syrup or agave syrup

Garnish

  • 1 tsp nut butter + water for drizzle
  • sprinkle of cocoa or cacao powder
  • cacao nibs (optional)

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Taste, and add anything more it may need.
  • For nut butter drizzle, mix 1 tsp nut butter with a small splash of water in a small bowl until smooth and thinned out. use a spoon to drizzle over the top of the smoothie. Sprinkle cocoa powder on top and optional cacao nibs. Enjoy!
