Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Onion powder
  • ¼-½ tsp Salt to taste
  • 5-10 grinds of Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Soak rice in cold water for 15 minutes.
  • Rinse rice in fine mesh strainer until water runs clear.
  • Place rinsed rice in medium-sized pot on the stove, add 2 cups of water and all the rest of the ingredients. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and cover with a lid. Gently simmer until rice is fluffy, 15-20 minutes.

Notes

*Remember to refrigerate leftover rice immediately! Rice (and beans) are very prone to bacteria that causes food-borne illness if left out at room temperature for more than two hours.
*Yellow Rice will keep in the fridge in a well-sealed container for up to 5 days.
