Spain

Spain

I’d always envisioned Spain as such an exotic country. Who wouldn’t, with the colorful buildings, cobblestone streets, and turquoise water on the Mediterranean? Even the word Mediterranean sounds fancy and exotic. Was I romanticizing Spain? What would it feel like to be there? That’s what I really wanted to know.

After nearly four decades of patiently wondering, I finally got my chance to visit Spain (and Europe in general)! We traveled to Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands off the mediterranean coast of Spain. What an experience, I finally got to see those post-card beaches in real life! The thing with traveling, though, is you realize how little you’ve actually seen and how much more there is to explore. You have to take it in one day at a time, one trip at a time.
